Hon. Sunday Adewale Omofojoye, a dedicated public servant and the serving Councilor representing Ward A in the Kosofe Local Government Area of Lagos State, has passed away.

Reports indicate that Omofojoye passed away on Saturday evening at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), where he had been receiving medical care. While the exact cause of his death remains unconfirmed, sources suggest he had been undergoing treatment prior to his demise.

Omofojoye’s untimely passing comes as his second term in office was nearing its end, with just a few months left until its conclusion in July.

The community of Oworonshoki, which he represented with dedication and commitment, is in a state of mourning following the news of his passing. Friends, political associates, and constituents alike have taken to social media and local platforms to share their condolences and remember his contributions to the community.

“Good night, Councilor Omofojoye representing Ward A, Oworonshoki,” one mourner wrote, while many others offered prayers for his peaceful rest and for strength for his family. “May Almighty Allah accept his return and grant him Aljanat Firdaus,” another tribute read.

As of the time of filing this report, no official statement has been released by the Kosofe Local Government Council or the Lagos State government regarding the circumstances surrounding his death.

Funeral arrangements and further details are expected to be made public in the coming days.
