Nollywood actress, Kehinde Bankole, has been announced as the Best Lead Actress at the 2024 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) held on Saturday at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Lagos.
Bankole won the award for her lead role in the movie ‘Adire’. She shrugged off competition from Segilola Ogidan and Lucie Debay who contested for the award for their lead roles in movies ‘Over the Bridge’ and ‘Omen’ respectively.
Other nominees were : Omowunmi Dada shortlisted for staring in the movie ‘Asiri Ade’, Ireti Doyle for her role in ‘The Origin: Madam Koi Koi’ , Adaobi Dibor in ‘Blood Vessel’. Evelyne Ily got the nod for nomination for featuring in ‘Mami Wata’ and Funke Akindele’s on ‘A Tribe Called Judah’.
In like terms, Wale Ojo, took the award for the Best Lead Actor for his role in the movie ‘Breath of Life’.
Ojo edged out Stan Nze’s role in ‘Afamefuna’, Marc Zinga in ‘Omen’, Gideon Okeke who featured in ‘Egun’ and , David Ezekiel starring in the movie ‘Blood Vessel’.
Richard Mofe Damijo made the shortlist for acting in ‘The Black Book’, so as Lateef Adedimeji in ‘Jagun Jagun’ and ‘The Warrior’, and Gabriel Afolayan in ‘This is Lagos’.
