Kasbell Grassroot Charity Foundation Urges Children To Speak Up Against Abuse

Children have been encouraged to speak up whenever the are abused for them to get justice from the appropriate quarters.

A non-governmental organisation (NGO),  Kasbell Grassroot Charity Foundation sensitised the Nigerian children to be aware of their rights and speak up when their rights are being abused by any member of the society.

The Foundation said this during a Child Protection Programme it held recently in Lagos, themed “Empowering Youth to Speak Up Against Abuse”, emphasising on child protection.

The Foundation addressed the pressing issue of child molestation, highlighting that 90% of child sexual abuse victims know their perpetrators, with 68% being family members.

Representing the Foundation were Mr. Wakeel Folaranmi, Secretary; Hon. Alhaja Fasilat Adesina, Head of Counselling; Mr. Yusuf Balogun, Head of Logistics; Mrs. Shittu, Head of Welfare; Ms. Feyisetan Hamzat, Head of Media; and Mrs. Adesewa Odewunmi, Member.

The programme, held at Randle Primary School, Surulere, and Morocco Comprehensive Junior School, Yaba/Shomolu, focused on educating the students about recognising, reporting, and preventing abuse, reinforcing Kasbell’s commitment to creating a safer community for children.

Founded in 2013 by Mrs. Lateefah Oluwakemi Bello-Salami, Kasbell Grassroot Charity Foundation is dedicated to improving lives across Nigeria through individual charity, support for the less privileged, and educational initiatives. The foundation’s ongoing efforts to provide school supplies, pay educational fees, and offer vocational training demonstrate their unwavering commitment to empowering underprivileged youth and breaking the cycle of poverty. This recent child protection program is a testament to their holistic approach to community support and development.
