July 12 : Oshodi LG Boss Launches Re-Election Campaign Amidst Glamour

It was a joyful and memorable Friday in Oshodi-Isolo Local Government as the Executive Chairman, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede, officially flagged off his re-election campaign. The event drew the presence of prominent political figures, respected Lagosians, and popular music stars, all united in support of a chairman who has delivered commendable leadership since taking office.
The venue radiated with excitement and festivity as party members and residents arrived in various colorful attires—Ankara, T-shirts, and Aso Oke—creatively styled to add cultural elegance to the event. The occasion was organized to celebrate the chairman’s remarkable achievements in his first term and to unveil the promise of an even more impactful second term.
As early as 10:00 a.m., the council pitch began to welcome a steady stream of well-wishers, political associates, and community leaders. The crowd grew rapidly, reflecting the widespread support for Otunba Oloyede’s leadership.
Among the dignitaries was Hon. Anthony Adeyinka, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Grassroots Sports Development, popularly known as Zulu Authority, who led a delegation of esteemed guests.
Also present was the Chairman of the Lagos State Council of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Alhaji Mustapha Adekunle Adio, fondly known as Tafa Sego, who arrived with other top officials of the union in solidarity.
The political class was well represented, led by Prince Samuel Omotosho Aina, a leading figure of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the local government. Other notable attendees included Hon. Israel Akiyode, Elder Salako, Chief Femi Akeju, Chief Sunday Akinwale, and Chief Mrs. Catherine Badejoko.
Traditional rulers graced the ceremony, lending a touch of royalty to the occasion. Attending royal dignitaries included High Chief Rafiu Ajisegiri (Baale of Shogunle), High Chief Muniru Obidairo (Baale of Shogunle-Oke), High Chief Adedayo Thomas (Baale of Mafoluku), and Chief Biliaminu Akinola (Regent of Oshodi).
The entertainment segment was vibrant and engaging, with live performances by notable musicians such as Alhaji Shefiu Alao, gospel sensation Mega 99 (Abel Dosunmu), and Afro-pop star 9ice (Adigun Abolore). Their performances thrilled the audience, prompting spontaneous dancing and celebrations from party members and residents.
Rising musical talents, including Lyon Oloyede, also took the stage, energizing the crowd with their dynamic performances. DJ Real provided nonstop entertainment with an exciting mix of tracks that kept the festive spirit alive throughout the day.
A major highlight of the event was the formal presentation of party flags to councillorship candidates across the seven wards of Oshodi-Isolo. The symbolic handover was carried out by the APC chairman in the local government, Hon. Saheed Animashaun, who presented the flags to Otunba Oloyede for distribution to the candidates.
The celebration ended on a high note as the councillors, joined by their jubilant supporters, paraded through the community, dancing and rejoicing in a show of unity and enthusiasm for the coming elections.
