Judge Frees ENDSARS Protesters After Four Years

Justice Bola Osunsanmi has discharged six men apprehended during the #ENDSARS protest in the year 2020.

Justice Osunsanmi pardoned the sextet at a proceeding held at the Magistrate’s court in Ikeja on Thursday.

The defendants are Daniel Joyinbo, 31, Adigun Sodiq, 28, Kehinde Shola, 32, Salaudeen Kamilu, 29, Sodiq Usseni, 33 and Azeez Isiaka, 34.

The defendants, who were on trial on a count charge of breach of public peace preferred against them by the Lagos State Government, had pleaded guilty to the charge and sent to prison in the year 2020.

However, the judge gave them a pardon , cautioning them to desist from lawless act which could hamper peaceful atmosphere in the state.

The pardoned protesters commited the offence on  November 23, 2020 at Ebutte Metta, Lagos.

The offence contravened Section 168(d) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
