The member of Federal House of Representatives representing Oshodi-Isolo constituency II, Hon. Ganiyu Johnson has given 50,000 to 50 newly trained entrepreneurs to start businesses.

The capital was released to the beneficiaries at the weekend following the completion of the two-day training in soap making, antiseptic insecticide and other cosmetics production organised for them by Project Development Institute (PRODA) in collaboration with Charity Creation Limited and Molar Investment Concept Ltd powered by Hon. While presenting the money to the beneficiaries, Johnson admonished them to make use of the opportunities to enrich themselves by investing the skill and the money profitably.

Johnson, who said the gesture fulfilled his campaign promise to take 1000 youths out of unemployment said additional money would be given to any of them who wishes to expand such business, promising to register the products with NAFDAC.

“You have acquired the skills that can make you employer of labour. When you started the training, I said I was looking for those who have passion for the training. I also promised that we won’t train you and just leave you like that, I promise to give you capital to start the business no matter how small. Today all of you will receive N50, 000 each to start the business.

“I implore you to be committed to the business as this is a way of reducing the rate of unemployment in the community. I promise that whoever among that put more effort to the business will be further supported to expand the business. We will try to register such entrepreneur’s products with the NAFDAC as each of you will be monitored to know how you are doing in your business.”
