Johnson replies Ajao Estate, pledges roads and schools upgrade

The member of the Federal House of Representatives representing Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II, Hon. Engr. Ganiyu Johnson, has replied to the demands of residents of Ajao Estate, pledging that he is working with the Lagos State Government on the roads.

 

He also announced plans to build a block of classrooms in a public school in Ajao Estate.

ECHONEWS obtained copy of a letter addressed to the Special Adviser, Lagos State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Mrs. Aramide Adeoye, titled “Request for Rehabilitation of some Roads within my Constituency” which was copied the Deputy Governor, Dr.Obafemi Hamzat and the General Manager, Public Works Corporation, Engr. Olufemi Daramola where the lawmaker charged the government to  include the constituency in its ongoing road rehabilitation programme.

 

His words: “I wish to thank you for the enormous road works you have embarked on in the last few weeks in Lagos State…“However, I need to call your attention to my constituency, Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency II that you have not extended your goodwill to us.

 

“Please find below the following roads that will improve the flow of traffic both internally within the constituency and the neighbouring Local Governments.”

 

The roads include Mushin Road from Apapa/Oshodi Expressway junction to Pako bridge; Kogberegbe Street from Mushin road to Osolo Way via Jame Oni to Olubi to Adebisi Omotola to Bola Ademuyiwa to Osolo Way eventually to Answani Market Road off Apapa-Oshodi expressway to Isolo Way; Osolo Way from Mushin Road to International Airport Road; Abimbola Street from Mushin Road to Godwin omonua to Ire-Akari Road back to Mushin Road; Godwin Omonua Way to Oshodi-Apapa expressway; Lateef Salami Street off Airport Road to Afariogun Street/Nwobodo Eze Street/Nosiru Asa Street to Chivita Avenue through Ajibade Babatola to Ahanor Drive to Inno Nwosu street to Victoria Akinleye Close to Alhaj Kudirat Adenekan Street at Canoe Bus stop; from Pako bridge to Egbe Road to the junction of Jakande gate; Alimi Bada Street off Alhaja Kudirat Adenekan to January 2th Road Peter Agha) to join Egbe Road by Oke-Afa bridge; Egbe Road down to Iyana-Ejigbo. By the right is Ifoshi Road to Fadu Avenue to Alaba Street to Idimu Road at Ejigbo-Idimu Bus stop.

 

Rep Johnson  explained that the government has engaged many contractors and divided the state into zones in order to have an even coverage.”

 

“The only window we have is between now till end of April. Within this window I know for sure that we will be able to meet most of the arterial roads making them motorable.”

 

However, Johnson said the government has promised to commence work on the roads in the next few weeks.

 

In the same vein, in response to the request for help with the rehabilitation of some roads and schools in their community, the lawmaker has promised the residents of Ajao Estate that he would soon commence renovation of some schools in the community.
