The Member, House of Representatives, Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II, Hon. Ganiyu Abiodun Johnson, former Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy and Publisher of ECHONEWS Newspaper, Mr. Kehinde Bamigbetan, the Executive Chairman of Isolo LCDA, Hon. Shamsudeen Olaleye (Shammeh) and his Ejigbo LCDA counterpart, Hon. Monsuru Bello (Obe) were among the dignitaries who earlier sent condolence messages to the former Lagos State Commissioner for Home Affairs, Dr.. AbdulHakeem AbdulLateef, over the demise of his mother, Alhaja Risikat Balogun, who died at the early hour of Thursday, May 14, 2020.
A torrent of condolences followed the announcement this morning of the death of Alhaja Risikat Balogun, the mother of the Special Adviser to the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Hon. AbdulHakeem AbdulLateef.
Arrangements to commit her remains to earth in line with Islamic rites have begun at the time of going to press.
Alhaja Risikat Balogun was reportedly died after she was rejected for treatment by a private hospital due to COVID-19 pandemic.
In his condolence message, Bamigbetan expressed his sympathy with the ex-commisioner, praying for the soul of the deceased.
His words: “May her soul rest in perfect peace!”
In his condolence, the Member, House of Representatives, Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II, Hon. Ganiyu Abiodun Johnson prayed God to grant the deceased eternal rest.
He said: “I’m sorry for your loss.Our thoughts are with you and your family during these difficult times. May God grant mom eternal rest.”
The Executive Chairman of Isolo LCDA, Hon Shamsudeen Abiodun Olaleye conveyed the sympathy of his administration.
In his own condolence message, the Isolo LCDA Chairman, Hon. Shamsudeen Olaleye said: “On behalf of the Executive Committee, Legislative Arm and Management of the council, I commiserate with one of our leaders and immediate past Commissioner for Home Affairs, Dr. Abdulateef Abdulhakeem over the death of his mother, Alhaja Riskat Balogun, who died in the early hour of today (14th May 2020).
“That the departed mother lived well and died well is enough sign that she would be well received in the bosom of Allah.
“May Allah give the family the fortitude to bear the loss and grant the departed soul Al-janat Fridauz.”
The Ejigbo LCDA Chairman, Hon. Monsuru Bello, in his message, described the late mother “as a great woman who was a pillar of discipline to her children.”
Obe noted that the deceased had contributed immeasurably to the building of a respectable pedigree for her family by raising disciplined and humble children like AbdulHakeem AbdulLateef.
He prayed that Allah bless her soul and reward all her good deeds with paradise and also comfort the family she left behind.
Mrs. Babatunde-Young, the principal of Oke-Afa Senior School, Ejigbo, wrote: “Inna lillahi wa inna ilaehi rajiun. May Allah SWT forgive Mama her sins and grant her Al-Jannat Firdaus, Amin.”
Also, Alhaji Suena said: “May Almighty Allah forgive her and admit her to Al-Janah Fridaos.”
According to APC Chairman, Oshodi-Isolo Local Government who doubles as conference of LGA chairmen, Lagos West Senatorial District, Alhaji Kasali Olamide, the party sympathised with Dr. AbdulLateef.
He said: “A heartfelt condolences on behalf of myself, APC members (Oshodi-Isolo Local Govt) and conference of LGA chairmen (Lagos West Senatorial District) to the former Lagos State Commissioner for Home Affairs, Hon. Dr. AbdulHakeem Abdu Lateef, his immediate and extended family members on the demise of their mother, Alh. Risqot Balogun.
“May Almighty Allah (SWT) grant her al-janat fridaus and also grant the bereaved the fortitude to bear this irreparable and irreplaceable loss.”
