Jandor Urges Party Members to Ignore ‘Anointed Candidate’ Claims
A Lagos governorship hopeful, Azeez Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has dismissed claims that the All Progressives Congress has already picked a preferred candidate for the 2027 election.
In a statement released through his spokesperson, Jandor made it clear that no decision has been taken by the party regarding who will fly its flag in the next governorship race.
He reassured party members and supporters that the process would be open and fair, with all aspirants given equal opportunity to contest.
For many Lagos residents and party loyalists, the clarification comes amid growing political conversations and early alignments that could shape the state’s future leadership.
Jandor stressed that rumours of an “anointed” candidate are misleading and do not reflect the position of the party leadership. He urged members not to confuse individual endorsements or campaigns with official decisions.
While affirming his readiness to contest, he also noted that he remains committed to party discipline and would respect any outcome reached through due process, including a consensus arrangement if adopted.
As political activities gradually build up ahead of 2027, his message highlights the importance of transparency, fairness, and unity within the party—factors many believe are key to strengthening democracy and ensuring that voters ultimately have confidence in the process.
