I’ve done well for my community to deserve re-election – Alarape

The Deputy Leader of Isolo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Akeem Adeyemi (Alarape), said he has done well for his community to be considered for his re-election as a councillor representing Ilasamaja Ward.

Alarape, who is struggling with other two aspirants under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC) to win the party’s ticket, claimed to have been successful during his first term in office by creating a strong cordial bond between his community and the local government.

The aspirant told ECHONEWS that he is seeking re-election to reap the reward of his sterling performance in the community and his loyalty to the great powers in the political circle.

He said he has to be considered in ECHONEWSthe forthcoming party primaries and local council election for him to consolidate on his legislative and developmental agenda in Ilasamaja and Isolo LCDA at large.

He listed the construction of Ilasamaja Townhall sponsored by the state government, rehabilitation of Ilasamaja Primary Healthcare Centre (PHC) and other developmental efforts of the council chairman in Ilasamajaas which he claimed to facilitated as part of his achievements, adding that he also gave out stipends to indigent residents as a personal project.

He explained that coronavirus pandemic hindered his effort to meet up with his initial targeted 100 persons with N5,000 support each instead of the 31 who received, promising to extend it to students and others indigents residents if elected for the second term.

While commending the council chairman, Hon. Shamsudeen Olaleye (Shammeh) for his sustained developmental efforts in Ilasamaja including rehabilitation of Araromi Street, Fabiyi Street, Alarape said it was possible due to his cordial relationship and loyalty to the council boss, promising to do the same with the next chairman.

He also commended the community members for their support in his first term in office l, saying their steadfastness made him succeed as he appealed to them for support on his re-election.
