The road rehabilitation project is being handled by a contractor, Wunmi Waterlation Nig. Ltd.

He had said the roads will be part of the projects to mark his first 100 Days in office.

He has also listed other roads including Mureni/Shonibare, Aderinto Streets and Kogberegbe Street to be part of the projects to celebrate his 100 Days.

He promised that work will soon commence on them following the ongoing ones.

Giving the commendation, the chairman of Karimu Olushi Community Development Area (CDA), Alhaji Ganiyu Karimu Aregbe, said the simultaneous commencement of the rehabilitation work in the streets is a sign of good governance, stressing that it is a confirmation that good road network is cardinal to the government of Olasoju.

He stated that the roads, when completed, will not only ease vehicular movements but also boost commercial activities in the community.

“Our entire community is impressed with this development, we’ve been seeking government’s attention on these roads for long. We are delighted at the unfolding development. We are grateful to the council chairman for walking the talk on his campaign promises to us,” Elder Jare Oguntoyinbo, the CDA Treasurer who also doubles as Ex-Officio at the CDC commented.

He added: “At the CDA level, we are heeding the advice of the council chairman as it has to do with ensuring that residents are of utmost cooperation with the contractor. The secretary of the CDA, Mr. Sesan Adebayo is always at the site to monitor and ensure residents’ maximum cooperation with the contractor. We have the assurance that work will soon commence on Karimu and Aregbe streets to complement the efforts on Ehingbeti, Lamina Lawal and Shodehinde.”

An Electronic Engineer on the street, Mr Muritala Sanni also said: “This ongoing project is highly laudable and we are happy that we are enjoying the dividends of democracy. Before now the road is worst. The road is infamous for its bad portions which have caused many vehicles to break down. This effort will put a lasting end to our suffering on the road and will improve commercial activities too.”
