Isolo residents commend Johnson for fixing roads

The residents of Isolo have commended the member of the House of Representatives representing Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II, Hon. Ganiyu Johnson for facilitating the rehabilitation of some roads within the council area.
The ongoing rehabilitation work is being done by the state government at Aiye Bus-stop, Abimbola Way and Salamotu street.
The lawmaker had, last year, written to the state government, appealing for the rehabilitation of some roads in the constituency which include the notorious Aiye Bus-Stop in Isolo and the dilapidated Abimbola Junction, Off Godwin Omonua as well as Salamotu Street both in Ilasamaja.
In the letter dated Monday, February 17, 2020, titled “Request for Rehabilitation of Some Roads within My Constituency,” Johnson said repairs would ease traffic congestion on the roads and make movement easy for other road users.
The works are currently ongoing in the areas with an indication that College, Goloba, Agbabiaka, Mustapha Junctions along Mushin Road will be improved on as paving stones have been deposited at each junction.
Reacting to this development, the Chairman, Landlords and Tenants Association in Aiye/College axis, Hon. Adeleke Adegboyega explained that the development is much needed while expressing his confidence that the rehabilitation effort in Aiye bus stop will last longer compared to previous efforts in the area.
His words: “We are grateful to our indefatigable representative for facilitating this development. This is another needed development that he has facilitated and it gladdens our heart. Developments like these are parts of the promises he made during the campaign – to provide infrastructure for the members of his constituency. The works are done in a modern way; with the use of paving stones and that is great. It will make the effort last longer especially on that Aiye bus stop because it is the major bottleneck along Isolo-Mushin Road. With this development, I believe that motorists will be relieved of traffic gridlock to a great extent. We are grateful to our MHR.”
Another resident suggested that the iron on the gutter be replaced with precast concrete because the abokis often steal them. Kudos to Lagos state government and the honourable lawmaker that facilitated this development.
The chairman of Marwa Riders in Aiye/7&8 unit, Comrade Sulaimon Akintunde, explained that the development will greatly ease the activities of more than 70 tricycle operators in that area and others plying that route, emphasising that the lawmaker has done a great job to have facilitated the development.
He, however, requested for extension of working hours by the traffic officers manning the junction to ensure free passage of vehicles till night.
