Isolo LCDA begins assessment of primary schools

From today, heads of primary schools in Isolo LCDA will receive officials of the LCDA directed to assess how prepared the schools are for resumption.

The directive was given by the chairman , Hon. Shamsudeen Olaleye (Shammeh).

 

The Chairman, who spoke through the Supervisory Councillor for Education, Hon. Bello Buhari, explained that the visitation is compulsory to ensure that the schools are in better condition and that the needed facilities are put in place for the safety of the pupils.

 

The Lagos State Government has ordered that all secondary and primary schools be reopened for academic activities across the state on Monday, September 14, 2020.

According to Olaleye, the council would fumigate all the primary schools in the council area again the next week.

 

It recalled that the council had earlier thoroughly fumigated all schools and public places during the lockdown, the council boss disclosed that there are plans to fumigate the schools again before the pupils resume next week.

 

He also said that the council would collaborate with the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) to make sure all necessary facilities are provided in the schools ahead of the resumption.

 

He said: “We’ll be visiting the premises of all public primary schools in the locality and put in place what are needed to ensure the safety of the pupils. By the grace of God, we are going to liaise with SUBEB and synergize efforts with the Board so that all that needs to be done from their end are in place.”

 

“About the fumigation of the schools, we’ve done it several times and we are still going to do it again. We will cut the grasses and ensure the premises are cleaned. The school buses will be in good shape hopefully before the end of this week.”

 

The Local Government Education Authority (LGEA) also stated that it has contacted that Board to make sure all precautionary measures are put in place to ensure maximum safety of the pupils.
