Inter-Agency Football Competition: Participating Teams Charged To Maintain Spirit of Sportmanship

Y2023 HOS GAMES: PARTICIPATING TEAMS CHARGED TO MAINTAIN SPIRIT OF SPORTS MANSHIP.

All the participants in the forthcoming 17th Edition of the Inter-Agency Football competition, known as the ‘HOS Games’ among Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) including Local Government and Local Council Development Areas in Lagos State have been implored to exhibit spirit of sports manship throughout the competition.

This was contained in a statement by the Public Affairs Officer, Office of the Head of Service, Mr. Debo Adeniji.

According to the statement, the Vice Chairman, Local Organizing Committee for the game, Mr Richard Ogbe, called for the spirit of sportmanship during the draws held at Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, Secretariat Alausa-Ikeja.

The statement read “The Competition is aimed at engendering and fostering the spirit of sports manship in the State Public Service”.

It stated that lot of activities had been lined up to add glamour and glitz to the Competition adding that 74 MDAs and all LG/LCDAs for male categories and 32 for female categories, would participate in the Competition.

According to the statement, this year’s HOS games will commence on Wednesday, 8th September, 2023 with the play-off category before the full tournament.

At the event, according to the statement, the Chairman, Technical Committee Mr Olaokun Okunnu, stressed that measures had been put in place to ensure that only qualified members of staff take part in this year’s ‘HoS Games’, stressing that all prospective players are required to attach their letters of appointment, staff identification card and medical certificate of fitness to their registration forms.

Okunnu, warned team Managers and Coaches not to field ineligible players, adding that any Agency that contravenes the rule would be banned from the Competition.

He stated that the Competition, which would be held at four venues, namely; Agidingbi Primary School playing ground, Dairy Farm Primary School playing ground, Agege, Isheri – Olowo Ira Mini Stadium and LASUTH Mini Stadium.
