Nigeria women U17 head coach, Bankole Olowookere has attracted interest from various clubs in Nigeria and outside the country according to a reliable source.
Bankole made history as he took the Flamingos team to a third place finish at the last FIFA U-17 women’s World Cup in India.
Olowookere also made set a record as he promoted Naija Ratels from the NWFL Championship to the Premiership and qualified for the Super Six in his debut season in the topflight of women’s football in Nigeria.
The source who pleaded anonymity said he can assure that coach Olowookere has received offers but haven’t made a concrete decision yet.
It’s said that the mouthwatering offers have been offered to Bankole and he has kept his decision to his chest.
“I can confidently tell you that coach Bankole Olowookere has been contacted by various clubs within and outside Nigeria,” the source said.
“The clubs believe in coach Bankole philosophy and his ability to manage average players to give a good result. Some of this clubs believe with a star-studded team and financial backing, Bankole will deliver and make their clubs a force to reckon with not only in Nigeria but also in Africa.
“You will be surprised to know that, some clubs from South Africa, North Africa and Europe have made a strong contact with Bankole as he’s in a dilemma to make a decision taking note that, he has a strong connection with Naija Ratels as head coach.
“Though, the coach is still weighing the decision at hand but he might be forced to choose a direction considering the mouthwatering offers tabled in front of him.
“As a grassroots coach, Bankole is very grounded in the game and he will be a lucky cherry pick for any club that finally lands his signature.”
