Imota LCDA Chairman Hosts Forum of Deputy Leaders of Local Government Legislatures in Ikorodu Division

The Executive Chairman of Imota Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Benson Sunday Ayodele, on Monday, October 13, 2025, played host to the Forum of Deputy Leaders of Local Government Legislative Councils in Ikorodu Division, in a meeting aimed at strengthening collaboration and deepening grassroots governance.
The visiting delegation, led by the State Vice Chairman of the Forum and Deputy Leader of Ikorodu West LCDA, Hon. Lion Batife Daisi, discussed strategies to enhance synergy between the legislative and executive arms of government across the division.
Hon. Batife highlighted the forum’s commitment to promoting unity among lawmakers and fostering effective partnerships with council executives for improved service delivery. He explained that the forum seeks to provide a platform for legislative leaders to share experiences, build capacity, and offer valuable input to local governance processes.
“Our goal is to strengthen inter-legislative collaboration and ensure that the grassroots benefit directly from government initiatives,” Hon. Batife stated. “We will continue to engage constructively and provide the necessary advisory support to sustain development across the division.”
In his response, Hon. Benson expressed appreciation for the visit, commending the forum for its proactive approach to governance and unity of purpose. He described their visit as timely and reaffirmed his administration’s readiness to maintain open communication and partnership with the legislative arm.
“Your solidarity and foresight reflect true leadership,” Hon. Benson noted. “We will continue to work together to advance the welfare of our people in Imota LCDA and the entire Ikorodu Division. Collaboration remains key to achieving sustainable development.”
He further encouraged the Deputy Leaders to uphold accountability, diligence, and integrity in the discharge of their duties, urging them to always prioritize the needs of their constituents.
Those present at the meeting included Hon. Saka Nurudeen (Deputy Leader, Ijede LCDA), Hon. Solawon Hakeem (Deputy Leader, Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA), Hon. Olusegun Aberuagba (Deputy Leader, Imota LCDA), Hon. (Mrs.) Fatuga Mutiat (Deputy Leader, Ikorodu Local Government), and Hon. Idris Jimoh (Deputy Leader, Ikorodu North LCDA).
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment from both sides to promote effective legislative-executive collaboration and strengthen the foundations of grassroots democracy across Ikorodu Division.
