I’m recontesting to raise standard of councillorship – Kenya
By Damilola Kushimo
A councillorship aspirant at Alagbeji Ward, Isolo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Mr. Nosiru Fowosere popularly known as Kenya, has said that he is contesting for the post to raise the standard of legislation.
According to him, it is when the legislation is standard that the residents could enjoy the dividends of democracy.
Fowosere, a two time aspirant, said his exposure and understanding of grassroots politics made him decide to contest again to be opportune to restructure the grassroots through modern informed legislation.

He stressed that the basis of his aspiration is to ensure that residents of his Ward enjoy dividends of democracy and to contribute his quota towards the formulation of people-oriented bylaws for the benefits of residents in the local council at large.
His words: “This is my third time of aspiring. I had to step down for a friend in the last election who eventually lost to the incumbent councillor during primaries. Over the years, my aspiration is driven by my desire to raise the standard of legislation at the grassroots and judiciously use my office to facilitate significant developments to my ward.
“Our former councillor, Hon. Doyin Pikuda made us proud because he performed wonderfully well. The incumbent councillor is trying his best but I plan to do things differently and ensure dividends of democracy are spread to the nooks and crannies of Alagbeji Ward by God’s grace.”
