Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA Legislators set to hold a public hearing on proposed bills for the formulation of new bye-laws tagged Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA byelaws 2024. This initiative aims to involve the public in the legislative process and ensure that the laws reflect the community’s needs and feedback.

 

The Majority Leader who the Chairman Committee on Bye-Laws, Hon. Ganiyu Selim Oluwaseun, emphasized the significance of public participation in lawmaking. “Lawmaking is essentially about the people. A law is as important as the people that will abide by it. Hence, in making any law, we have to carry the people along, explain to them what we have in mind, what we have done so far, and what we intend to achieve while getting their inputs and feedback, which we will incorporate to guide the final outcome of the bill. After this, it will be sent to the Executive for assent. Once the Chairman signs it, it becomes a law,” he explained.

 

The public hearing is scheduled to hold on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at the Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA Multipurpose Hall, Agbowa, starting at 10:00 AM.

The bills are designed to address key issues within the LCDA, promoting a cleaner, safer, and more organized community.
