The Ikorodu Peculiar Lions Club executed a Feed the Hungry initiative on at Itamaga Bus Stop, opposite the Ansarulah Central Mosque in Ikorodu.
The project aimed to combat food insecurity among local residents by distributing loaves of bread, akara (bean cakes), and sachets of water to grateful beneficiaries.
The event, spearheaded by the Ikorodu Peculiar Lions Club, received support from the Eko Centennial Lions Club, which contributed to the smooth execution of the initiative.
The outreach was led by the club’s Charter President, Lion David Akinosho, and Service Chairperson, Lion Kayode Aluko, alongside a dedicated team of members and volunteers.
Together, they ensured the project delivered meaningful relief to the community.
Speaking on the initiative, Lion Akinosho emphasized the club’s commitment to addressing societal needs through impactful service.
“This initiative is part of our ongoing mission to serve humanity and touch lives in meaningful ways,” he said.
Service Chairperson Lion Aluko reflected on the success of the outreach, attributing it to teamwork and a shared passion for service.
“It’s heartwarming to see the smiles on people’s faces. This is what service is all about,” he remarked.
Residents expressed gratitude for the thoughtful gesture, with many describing it as a timely intervention during challenging times. “This is such a blessing,” remarked one of the beneficiaries, underscoring the impact of the project.
The Feed the Hungry project highlights the Ikorodu Peculiar Lions Club’s dedication to fostering positive change in their community.
With the support of the Eko Centennial Lions Club, the initiative also showcased the power of collaboration in achieving shared goals.
