Igando-Ikotun Council Kickstarts Free Medical Health Plan

The Chairman of Igando-Ikotun Local Council Development Area, Mr. Lasisi Ayinde Akinsanya at the Ikotun  Primary  Health Center (PHC), launched the  ILERA EKO one-year free medical health plan for residents of the community who are considered vulnerable.

The State Governor, His Excellency  Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, was commended by the Council Chairman during his welcoming address for his dedication and love in making sure that Lagosians have access to quality healthcare.

Akinsanya urged everyone in attendance to follow the guidelines set forth by the  Lagos State Heart Management Agency (LASHMA) medical team.

Following his welcome speech, he and the council’s top officials took a tour of the various LASHMA team parts and took part in the medical examinations.
Among the medical tests performed are those for malaria, screening for HIV, high blood pressure, tuberculosis, and sugar levels.

The EKO Social Health Alliance (EKOSHA) was on ground with their mobile laboratory van to support the free ILERA EKO Health plan.

The Medical Officer of Health (MOH) Dr. Mrs. Uti-Momah spoke extensively on the program.

She said the health plan is beneficial to every family in Lagos State, noting that, the target of the one-day registration was to get five hundred vulnerable people registered for the health plan and so far, it has been a huge success.

She appreciated the Executive Chairman for his major contribution towards the health plan.
