The member, representing Ifako Ijaiye Constituency 02, Mr. Emmanuel Olotu visited the tanker accident scene that occurred earlier in the week at Kola Bus Stop, Alagbado along Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway.
A tanker fell on two commercial buses, killing one person and injuring several others due to bad state of the roads.
The lawmaker labeled the incident a sad development and prayed to God for the strength to help the “victim family” deal with the loss and for the injured parties to heal quickly.
He sympathised with the locals and traders whose livelihoods had been destroyed by the collision as he pleaded for calm, and assured them that both the federal and state governments would act quickly to find a long-term solution to the awful road in order to prevent similar incidents in the future.
He also commended the Lagos State Fire Service, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency and the Nigeria Police Force for their swift response to curtail raging of fire in the axis. He also thanked the Road Users for their patience and calm.
We will continue to do our best and ensure that we mitigate things of this nature in future. Olotu said.
