Ibeju-Lekki Chairman Celebrate Retirees in Grand Style

The mood at the Council Secretariat in Igando Oloja was one of joy and ecstasy as the Council Chairman of Ibeju Lekki LGA, Egnr. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa celebrates with retirees that have put active years of their lives into government service.

 

In his speech, the Council boss admonished them that there is life after service as the wealth of experience acquired over the years is still valuable to the Local Government, State, and the country at large. While acknowledging that retirement marks the end of a significant chapter in their professional lives, he encouraged them that it is indeed the beginning of a new journey.

 

Olowa acknowledged that they have indeed left indelible marks on Ibeju Lekki Local Government through ground breaking projects, mentorship of younger employees and the day to day excellence they have brought into their roles as civil servants He advised the retirees to take their health seriously and other welfare package designed to enable them live better lives after retirement.

The Council Manager, Mr. Oladipupo Otinwa who praised the retirees for putting in thirty five (35) good years of their lives into the government service as he encouraged them that their memories will continue to be relished and celebrated as they have both shared good and bad times together.

 

Mr. Ogunsakin representing the Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro extolled the virtues of the retired workers for leaving a long-lasting legacy behind as their names have been etched in gold. Mr. Ogunsakin acknowledged the efforts of Egnr. Olowa, in the quality of gifts given to the retirees which, in his own words, is the first of its kind.

 

Certificates and gifts of grinding machines, dry cleaning machines were presented to the retirees, courtesy of Olowa led administration, as cash gifts were also donated to the retirees by the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE).
