The head coach of Delta Queens, Alabi Ayinla, has disclosed his team’s determination to win the leagues ahead.
He told ECHONEWS the level of preparation of the team for the forthcoming preseason tournament that they will be participating in.
Ayinla, who was recently appointed the coach of the team, said his strategies of winning the coming league campaign for the club include utilisation of the invitational preseason tournament as a training for his club.
“My aim is to take Delta Queens to greater height and make them a force to reckon with in Africa female football. Though we have some good players in our ranks, we hope to make them better in their games and hopefully recruit more players to prepare the team for next season.
“I am presently touring the country to recruit more players for the team, because I have seen some lapses in the team which I want to correct before the start of another league campaign.
“We are preparing for an invitational tournament coming up in Abuja in October which is the Flying Officers Cup which is described as the biggest preseason tournament in Africa and all the big guns in the Nigeria Women Premier League will participate. We’ll also be participating in the South South preseason competition which is coming up as well to be hosted by Delta or Bayelsa State. It will aid the development of our players towards the new league season and we hope that with this competitive tournaments coming up, our team will be well prepared ahead of the new season.”
