It may sound unbelievable but it is true that supporters of the presidential candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi intimidated and chased away voters of opposition parties from polling stations during the presidential and National Assembly elections of February 25.
A victim (Names Withheld) narrated his ordeal to Echonews on how some supporters of Obi came to the polling station with dogs to chase away voters that would not vote for Labour Party.
He said he approached unit 108 at no. 11 Holy Street, Ejigbo, Lagos State where he would vote but met a group of people and various species of exotic dogs that stood against supporters of other political parties.
His words,” When I got to the polling unit to my greatest surprise I noticed that they surrounded the place with different species of dangerous dogs.
I saw some group of boys in Labour Party’s T-Shirts saying that the dogs will bite whoever that will vote for APC. As I was asking who brought such dogs here, immediately one of them loosed a dog from the chain and it started running towards me.
” I quickly ran into a parked four-wheel car to save my life. Little did I Know that it was the same vehicle that brought the dogs to the polling unit. The dog was running towards the car where I was as I tried to close the booth.
” At this point I don’t know what to do again but to rush out of the car again but I fell down on the process and injured my leg. One of the Labour Party’s guys later came to take the dog away from pouncing on me.”
