How I plan to transform my ward if elected – Davies
By Damilola Kushimo
A councillorship aspirant in Ishaga/Ire-Akari Ward F4, Isolo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Ayobami Davies, has revealed his plan to transform his ward to look like a Government Reserved Area (GRA) if elected.
Davies, who is aspiring on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said being a councillor would not hinder him from achieving his aim.
The radio presenter and compere who is also a realtor and comedian said being born and bred in the community, he knows the real needs of the residents, boasting that he has the ability and connection to transform the community.
Davies said he would influence greater infrastructure developments into the community from both government and corporate organisations.
He pledged to bring government closer to the people and always engage them on how to move the community forward.
He further explained that though his primary duty as a councillor is to make bylaws, he promised to go the extra miles to facilitate more developmental projects into his ward if given the mandate.
While expressing confidence of victory at poll, the aspirant said he has been endorsed by the stakeholders in the community, adding that they have screened and accepted his agenda.
He said: “I’ve been an active member of this ward before I began aspiring. If I am given the mandate to become the councillor representing my ward, my achievements will be limitless. I will use my position to influence greater developments into Ishaga/Ire-Akari Ward.
“With maximum cooperation of my people and the council chairman, we shall turn this ward into a GRA. If I am given the opportunity to be the councillor, I will turn this place to GRA without government money. It will be a collective work with the residents and other stakeholders. Ishaga will be a model for others. If there are significant developments in all sectors, socio-economic activities in the community will be greater.
“I have had meetings with various stakeholders in the community and they’ve all keyed into my plans, the plans are achievable. PDP is a community party. We will make sure there’s a greater level of love and unity in the community.”
He, however, appealed to Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) to ensure that the election is free, fair and transparent.
