How D’Tigress Won FIBA Women’s Afrobasket Championship

Nigeria emerges the champions of the FIBA Women’s Afrobasket Championship for the fourth time in a row after defeating familiar foe Senegal 84-74 in the final.

The D’Tigress have now defeated Senegal in four FIBA Women’s Afrobasket Championship final and clinched their sixth title at the BK Arena, Kigali.

Nigeria blew away the Senegalese by winning the first quarter with a nine points lead.

Senegal came back strong in the second quarter and ended the first half with an impressive performance.

D’Tigress kept their composure in the second half and stood their ground to win the game.

The Lionesses have now lost to the D’Tigress in four Afrosbasket finals (2005, 2017, 2019, and 2023)

D’Tigress will compete for a spot at the women’s basketball at the 2024 Olympics.

Nigeria’s Amy Okonkwo was named the Most Valuable Player MVP of the tournament with a massive outing.
