Hon. Okla Unity Cup Returns With Excitement, Community Spirit And Emerging Talent

The second edition of the Hon. OKLA Unity Cup kicked off in lively fashion on Monday at the Anthony Youth Centre, Anthony Village, bringing together football lovers, young athletes, and residents in a colourful celebration of grassroots sports and community unity.
Tournament sponsor Hon. Sanni Ganiyu Babatunde Okanlawon, Member representing Kosofe Constituency 01 in the Lagos State House of Assembly and Chairman of the House Committee on Local Government Administration, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development, was present to officially flag off the competition. He reaffirmed his commitment to empowering young people and strengthening grassroots football structures across Kosofe.
The opening day lived up to expectations, delivering two competitive fixtures that set the tone for the days ahead:
Megida FC (Ward C, Ifako) 1 – 0 Sniper FC (Ward B, Oworonshoki)
Gida FC (Ward F, Ojota) 2 – 0 Anthony FC (Ward D, Anthony)
Widely regarded as one of the most promising talent-spotting platforms in the constituency, the Hon. OKLA Unity Cup continues to draw interest from scouts hoping to discover the next generation of football stars. While winning remains important, the tournament’s deeper value lies in offering young players a meaningful stage to demonstrate their skills, gain confidence, and advance their football journey.
