Former Guinness World Record holder Hilda Baci has announced plans to set a new world record by cooking 250 bags of rice in what is expected to be the biggest jollof pot ever recorded.
The celebrity chef revealed the project on Monday in a trending video shared on her Instagram page, expressing excitement about the challenge.
According to Hilda, the cooking will be carried out in a giant 22,619-litre pot, measuring 6 metres wide, 1.1 metres tall, and 1.3 metres deep.
“I’ve made the executive decision to cook 250 bags of basmati rice. The pot is enormous, but I’m confident it won’t sink,” she said.
The event is scheduled to take place on September 12, 2025, and is expected to feed at least 10,000 people.
This announcement comes two years after Hilda Baci set the Guinness World Record for the longest individual cooking marathon, where she cooked for 93 hours and 11 minutes.
