Celebrity chef Hilda Baci has officially embarked on her bold quest to set a new Guinness World Record by cooking the world’s largest pot of jollof rice, using an astonishing 250 bags of rice.
The globally celebrated cook, who rose to fame in 2023 after smashing the record for the longest cooking marathon, began her latest challenge at Eko Hotel, Lagos, before a lively crowd of fans and supporters.
Before the cooking commenced, Hilda and her mother shared an emotional moment of prayer, asking for divine strength, protection, and endurance throughout the marathon. The heartfelt scene drew loud cheers from spectators, many of whom hailed her mother as a constant pillar in her remarkable journey.
Hilda, known for her spirited personality, also took to social media to share a playful update:
“Yes, I can officially confirm this pot is squeaky clean! I rolled up my sleeves and washed it myself. In just a few hours, this same pot will carry thousands of servings of Nigerian Jollof history in the making.”
The event, initially scheduled for Muri Okunola Park, was relocated to Eko Hotel to accommodate overwhelming interest, with more than 20,000 people registering to attend.
