Greedy marketer in police trouble

A self proclaimed pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God located Ilewe parish in Ejigbo, Pastor Godwin Adeeyo has landed himself in trouble after he was allegedly to have tampered with more than N650,000 depositors money entrusted to his care by his employer.

Adeeyo, a graduate of Chemistry from the Adekunle Ajasin University was employed by PMG Financial Cooperative Company as a marketer and credit officer and according to reports, he perpetrated the act of tampering with the money of one of his employer’s customers hoping that the company won’t know.

Unfortunately for the Ondo State-born officer, when the company carried out an internal audit, the management discovered the fraud and summoned him to explain what happened but he was unable to give a convincing explanation.

The management then reported the matter and handed him over to the police at Ejigbo Division for investigation where Some of the customers Adeeyo had collected money from came to the police station and testified against him. At that point he then admitted that he had collected the money from the customers but converted it to his personal use.

He was asked to refund the money but he claimed that he had spent all and as such had no money to refund. Adeeyo was charged before Isolo Magistrates court for stealing.

He pleaded not guilty.

The presiding Magistrate, Mr A.O. Ogbe granted Adeeyo bail in the sum of N250,000 with two sureties in like sum. The court also ordered that the sureties must deposit N50,000 with the Chief Registrar before the bail will be perfected.

He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
