Graduates of Polythene Production In Ifako-Ijaiye Equipped with Machines

In a resounding display of its commitment to poverty alleviation and resident empowerment, the Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government celebrated the graduation of the first batch of beneficiaries of the Polythene Training Program held at the Secretariat Hall on Tuesday 11th June 2024, the ceremony showcased the industrious efforts of the graduates, who had undergone rigorous industrial training for several weeks.

 

Echonews reports that the Chairman, Prince Usman Akanbi Hamzat, expressed his heartfelt congratulations to the graduates, highlighting the significance of the program in empowering women and fostering self-reliance within the community.

 

“`We are here today not just to celebrate your graduation but to honor your commitment and resilience. This training has equipped you with valuable skills that will open doors to numerous opportunities. You are now pioneers of change in our community, and we are incredibly proud of each one of you,“` Prince Hamzat remarked.

 

The polythene training program, conceptualized to equip participants with practical skills and knowledge, covered a wide range of topics, from basic machine handling to advanced cutting techniques, ensuring that the graduates were well-prepared to launch their entrepreneurial careers.

 

In his welcoming remarks, the Council Manager, Mr. Adegbenro Adesanya, urged the beneficiaries to seize this opportunity to not only improve their personal circumstances but also contribute to the overall well-being of their families. He went on to commend the Chairman’s initiative, describing it as “amazing,” for its far-reaching impact on the community.

 

The event’s high point was the distribution of polythene cutting machines and certificates to the graduands, marking the start of their new business ventures and putting smiles on their faces.

 

As they received their machines, it was a testament to the impact of the program on their lives and a symbol of their potential to create a thriving industry from what was once just a seed.

 

In his speech, the Deputy Leader, Mr. Jelili Adetunji, urged the beneficiaries to see their new machines as a valuable resource that, if nurtured, could blossom into a successful business.

 

 

 

 

 

In his admonishment, the Secretary to the Local Government, Mr. Kolawole Fasusi, asked the trainees to be passionate about the skill they have acquired through the training, be dedicated, and pray for God’s favour. According to him,those were the three ingredients that will make for their success.

 

“`Your journey has not been easy, but your determination and hard work have brought you here today. This is just the beginning. With the skills you have acquired, you have the power to change your lives and contribute to the growth of our community,“` Hon. Fasusi said.

 

The graduands were thrilled and overwhelmed with gratitude towards Prince Usman Hamzat for the life-changing training. They expressed their sincere appreciation for the opportunity to improve themselves and promised to put the machines to good use.

 

Mrs. Junaid Adewunmi, the Head of Department, WAPA, lauded the trainees for their commitment and drive, emphasizing that the sky was just the beginning for them.

As the local government continues its efforts to empower women, men, and youths, Ifako-Ijaiye remains steadfast in its vision of building a brighter future, one step at a time.
