SKF technical sales manager, Edio Uti has tasked the selected players for the Gothia Cup in Sweden to be focused on the ultimate goal.
Five Ghetto Tigers players from Odi-olowo Ojuwoye LCDA will participate in the Gothia Cup representing Nigeria Eagles which consist of other players.
Uti along with the The Country Manager of SKF is Mr Dare Oyegunle were impressed with the dedication and skills of the selected players for the international tournament as they urged them to derive motivation from notable players that have played in the youthful competition.
Uti admonished the players not to be carried away by the frenzy of the competition but remain committed to the target.
“I can say that I’m really impressed with their skills, dedication and commitment. So we thought it’s a good initiative to work with them.
“Well for me the sky is the limit for them. This Gothia Cup have been up since 1975 and we have some notable names from this competition, Emmanuel Adebayor, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Andrea Pirlo participated in the competition.
“So I like to urge the players not to be intimidated. I’ve seen them play, they have what it takes. They should go there, express themselves with no fear, play freely and enjoy their football and whatever comes out from it should be left in the hands of God.
“I want to appreciate the chairman and vice chairman of Odi-olowo Ojuwoye LCDA, for the facilitation. When we came to them, they were very supportive to make this a reality.”
