Gothia Cup: Ajala Excited Over Sweden Bound Odi-olowo Ojuwoye LCDA Players

Chairman of Odi-olowo Ojuwoye LCDA, Mr Rasaq Ajala is excited over the opportunities abound with five players of the community who were selected to take part in the largest youth football tournament in the World, the Gothia Cup in Sweden.

The players were fully sponsored by the Odi-olowo Ojuwoye LCDA and powered by SKF Nigeria.

Ajala revealed it’s a thing of joy and fulfillment for him to see the actualization of their investment in sport over the years come to reality as they positively project Mushin to the World.

He implored the five players to give their best and soar high in the youthful tournament in Sweden.

“It’s a thing of joy and fulfillment for me. We came on board on the strength of the mandate given to us by our people because of their conviction that we have what it takes to change the narrative to give opportunities and prosperity to them.

“We promised that if we are given the mandate, we will project Mushin to the World positively and one of the verifiable platforms that we can use to achieve that is through football.

“We are delighted that five of our players at Odi-olowo Ojuwoye LCDA will be participating in the largest youth football tournament in the World, which is the Gothia Cup in Sweden.

“Football is now a huge business and we are using this opportunity to expose our players to the World and to be able to be scouted by international scouts.

“I want to implore the young players to give their best and make Odi-olowo Ojuwoye LCDA proud and also bring the trophy back home. I will also be monitoring their progress in the tournament.”

One of the selected players, Damilare Owoseni commended the council chairman for finding them worthy of this opportunity and promises the players won’t disappoint and give their best at the Gothia Cup.

The father to one of the players, Mr Ebenezer Olajide was elated over the opportunity presented to his son and pray they succeed at the Gothia Cup.
