Ghetto Tigers Ladies kicked off their debut campaign in the Ikeja DFA/HRA Women’s League with an impressive 3-1 win against Fackson Next Pro Ladies.
It was a fascinating display of women’s football artillery from both sides as the young girls showed promising future with their amazing display on the pitch.
The sport loving chairman of Odi-olowo Ojuwoye LCDA, Mr Rasaq Ajala did the ceremonial kickoff of the tournament to signal the start of the noble women’s football championship.
Rokibat Egberongbe broke the deadlock in the game with a fantastic finish to give Ghetto Tigers Ladies the lead from open play.
Jude Ebube and Jessica Ebube scored in quick succession to extend the Pride of Odi-olowo lead to 3-0 in the first 45 minutes.
While Fackson pulled a goal back which wasn’t enough to salvage a point in the game.
Ghetto Tigers Ladies star, Oluwatomisin Oluwafemi impressive all round display won her the player of the match.
Notable personalities and sport administrators in attendance are, vice chairman of Odi-olowo Ojuwoye LCDA, Mr Seyi Jakande, chairman of Ikeja DFA, Evangelist Rafiu Taiwo Alagbe and Ikeja DFA board member, Chief Mrs Olajumoke Duroshola
Others are, Leader of Ikeja Football Coaches Council (IFCC), Coach Adeshina Babatunde and the director of Unification Ladies, Oluwatobi Oyekan.
