The former Lagos State House of Assembly aspirant in Oshodi constituency I, Hon. Adebanji Gbeleyi (Skibanj) last week donated 500 5kg bags of rice to All Progressives Congress (APC ) party members in Oshodi to celebrate Islamic Ileya festival.
According to Gbeleyi, the gesture was a give-back to the community and showing of appreciation to the party members for their steadfastness, loyalty and support to the party.
As a party stakeholder, Gbeleyi said it was necessary to encourage the party members especially at a time that many people need financial support.
He noted that Ileya festive period is one of the hit times when acts
of philanthropy are mostly accepted by people and the Almighty God.
While distributing the food items in his office on Thursday, Gbeleyi regretted that coronavirus hindered the Muslim faithful from elaborate celebration, admonishing them to keep on observing government directives to control community spread of Covid-19.
He said with the support of everyone, the war against the virus would soon be won.
