The Gateway Games 2024 officially took off in style with a star-studded opening ceremony at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta.

Nigerian music sensations Davido and Asa brought the house down with their electrifying performances, showcasing the state’s rich cultural heritage and setting the tone for a thrilling sports extravaganza.

The games, which began on Friday with competitions in weightlifting and Kung Fu, promise to showcase top-notch athletic talent from across the country. The event is expected to foster unity, sportsmanship, and healthy competition among athletes.

This year’s edition marks a significant milestone for Ogun State, which last hosted the games nearly two decades ago in 2006.
