In anticipation of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) slated for May 11, 2024, Multichoice Nigeria has unveiled a star-studded list of nominees.
The event, set to dazzle at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos State, promises to celebrate the finest talents in the African entertainment industry.
Headlining this year’s nominations are industry stalwarts Funke Akindele and Kehinde Bankole, alongside a constellation of luminaries including Timini Egbuson, Adedimeji Lateef, Genoveva Umeh, and Stan Nze.
Several standout movies have also secured nominations, including “Breath of Life,” “Blood Vessel,” and “A Tribe Called Judah,” showcasing the diverse storytelling prowess of African cinema.
Among the notable categories, the Best Digital Content nominees feature compelling works such as “National Treasure” by Adebola Adeyela (Lizzy Jay) and “Medical Negligence and Copyright Infringement” by Isaac Ayomide Olayiwola (Layi Wasabi).
Additionally, the Best Indigenous Language Film category highlights remarkable productions from various regions, including “Mami Wata” by CJ Fiery Obasi and “Jagun Jagun” by Femi Adebayo.
The excitement continues with recognition for outstanding talent from East, West, and South Africa in the Best Indigenous Language sub-categories, showcasing the rich cultural tapestry of the continent.
Furthermore, the Best Multichoice Talent Factory Movie category promises to shine a spotlight on emerging filmmakers with promising works such as “Grown,” “Her Dark Past,” “Somewhere in Kole,” and “Full-Time Husband.”
