Fregene Pledges More South South Unflinching Support To Lagos State

Chieftain of the South South Group in Lagos state, Dr Paul Fregene has pledged that the association will continue to show loyalty to Lagosians.

Fregene who’s also the Secretary to Local Government (SLG) of Ejigbo LCDA, said the South South have a good, harmonious and progressive relationship with Lagos state that transcends over four decades.

He stated that, the progressive relationship with Lagos has made some of them to have political appointments while also getting elected to office.

He further highlighted how the South South group led by Sam Egube rallied their members to show solidarity to the Yorubas at the last general election.

“We have a good, harmonious and progressive relationship with the Southwest. It has been a journey of progressive relationship from the era of our late father, and hero of democracy, Chief Obafemi Awolowo.

“The relationship between the South South and Lagos have been very cordial. History have shown that it’s the son of Oba of Ife that went to Edo, Benin to become the King there.

“Lagos have been friendly and accommodating to the people of the South South and I can tell you that the South South people have been very loyal to the progressives. It has been an harmonious and very good relationship for the past years and it has produce some of us to serve as political appointees or elected into office in Lagos state for the past 20 years.

“The South South under the leadership of the Apex leader, Sam Egube rallied round their members enmasse in Lagos state to vote for the APC which they delivered. The South South have economically contributed some values to Lagos State and we have reputable industrialists who have championed economic activities in Lagos state.”
