Residents of Lagos have experienced gridlocks on their way out of their houses after heavy downpour in the early hours of Tuesday Morning, September, 9, 2025.

The rain which has brought flooding in many parts of Lagos, both on the mainland and Island, started the previous day, which was on Monday evening, while commuters and others were on their way home from their various places of work and business.

The effects and impact of the rain continued on Tuesday morning, in areas like: Ajah, Victoria Island, Oworonshoki, Oshodi, Sangotedo, Ikorodu and others, thereby causing gridlocks, traffic and slow vehicular movement.

The rain has also affected the routine of residents in Lagos, slowing down commercial activities and restricting movements of people on the roads.

The drizzling nature of the rain has also discouraged some residents, commuters and few business men and women, who are yet to open their stores to start the business of the day.

However, hawkers on the streets and roads have rather decided to use the situation as an opportunity to sell those goods to people in traffic.

Another unfortunate situation is the fact that most people going to their offices to resume work have currently delayed in traffic.
