In an effort to enhance service delivery for Nigerian citizens, the Federal Government has announced plans to launch an additional Passport Front Office in Igando Ikotun Local Council Development Area (LCDA).
Echonews reports that this initiative, spearheaded by Deputy Controller of Immigration (DCI) Oluwakemi Adigun, aims to provide efficient passport services to individuals within the community.
The Chairman of Igando-Ikotun LCDA, Comrade Akinsanya Lasisi Ayinde, emphasized the importance of passports as proof of existence, particularly for Nigerians living abroad.
The new Passport Front Desk Office seeks to address the challenges faced by community members in obtaining passports, ensuring a more streamlined process with reduced waiting times and affordable pricing.
In addition to improving service delivery, the establishment of the Passport Front Office in Igando Ikotun LCDA is expected to contribute to local economic growth and create job opportunities for the area’s youth.
“The government therefore wants to provide the passport for anyone desirous of it within reasonable time, at affordable price and without any stress whatsoever, he maintained.
He, however, said that the Federal Government was intentional about opening more front desk offices, in order to increase the registration centres and reduce the waiting period before biometric data capture.
