FG Extends Students Holiday, Announces New Resumption Date

The Federal Government has extended the holiday for students of tertiary institutions across the country.

This is due to the postponement of governorship and house of assembly elections by Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

The Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu disclosed that schools would remain closed till 20th of March 2023.

INEC revealed that due to reconfiguration of Bimodal Voter’s Accreditation System (BVAS), the commission has postponed Governorship election which was expected to come up on 11th of March, 2023 by a week.

Recall that Nigerian government has earlier directed that universities and inter-university centres close between 22 February and 14 March ahead of the 2023 general elections.
