The Football Coaches Association of Africa Nations (FCAAN) collaborated with the Lagos State Football Association (LSFA) women’s football adhoc committee to empower and educate the girl child at the one day mentorship program which was done at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan.
The program centered on developing the girl child through football, financial literacy and impacting modern day coaching knowledge to the players coaches (Which was facilitated by FCAAN).
The CEO of FCAAN, Danny Nazzal described the one day training and mentorship program as a monumental success which empowered the Girl-Child and also provided an opportunity for their coaches to be taught modern day techniques of the game.
The football administrator admitted that, bringing on ex internationals and legends of the game will encourage the young girls to be disciplined with their career, while also not neglecting their educational priorities too.
“This is a monumental event which was successful. We were able to encapsulate different programs for the young girls and their coaches about the game while empowering them with knowledgeable that will take them to the top.
“Bringing on board football legends and ex players like Ann Chiejine, Diana Asak, Coach Emmanuel Osahon of FC Robo to share their experiences about the game with them will really boost the morale of the young girls to take their career serious with a disciplined mind and also not joke with their education which they will fall back on after their football career.”
The program featured over 500 players and 30 coaches from the five Divisional Football Associations in Lagos state.
