Hon. Fawole Ayowole Ezekiel has officially declared his intention to contest for the Somolu Constituency One seat in the Lagos State House of Assembly, vowing to bring true change to the people of the area.

In a statement issued to residents of Somolu, Ezekiel revealed that his decision came after wide-ranging consultations with community leaders, stakeholders, and ordinary residents, who have increasingly expressed the need for fresh and responsive leadership.

The aspirant emphasised that Somolu requires a representative who truly understands the daily challenges, struggles, and aspirations of the people, arguing that many residents currently feel neglected and underserved by existing representation.

“It is time for genuine change,” he declared. “For too long, our people have endured leadership that neither fully grasps nor adequately responds to their pains, struggles, and voices.”

Ezekiel pledged to offer accessible, compassionate, and people-centred leadership rooted in trust, dignity, and accountability if elected.

Outlining his priorities, the aspirant placed strong emphasis on youth development and the empowerment of small businesses. He stressed the importance of equipping young people with relevant skills for a technology-driven future, describing it as essential for the constituency’s progress.

He also promised robust support for local entrepreneurs, noting that small businesses remain the backbone of Somolu’s economy.

Ezekiel further committed to working hand-in-hand with community stakeholders to deliver meaningful and sustainable development across the constituency. He stressed that effective governance must be built on constant collaboration and active engagement with residents so that policies and projects truly reflect their needs.

Reaffirming his message of hope, Ezekiel called on the people of Somolu to rally behind a new direction anchored on unity, progress, and shared purpose.

“There is real hope in true change,” he said, “and that change begins the moment we make the right choice in leadership.”
