Fausat Balogun Memorial Cup: SGH Sport Academy Amazons, Eletu Queens zoom to last four

SGH Sport Academy Amazons and Prince Kazeem Eletu Queens zoomed to the semifinal of the Fausat Balogun Memorial Cup holding at Igbowu mini stadium, Mushin.

SGH Amazons defeated Ghetto Tigers 4-0 to seal a semifinal berth.

Diminutive forward, Rodiat Adebisi gave SGH Amazons the lead in the 13th minute with a swift finish.

Ghetto Tigers had some few chances to get back into the game but some misplaced efforts from the players couldn’t give them a breakthrough in the game.

Mary Akosile doubled the Amazons lead in the 21st minute to put them in the driving seat in the game.

Akosile grabbed her brace of the game in the 51st minute as Rebecca Gadonu made it 4-0 for the Amazons in the game.

Meanwhile, Eletu Queens edged out Future Stars 3-1 to also cement a place in the semifinal of the tournament.

Goals from Eletu’s Bisola Mosaku, Ebunoluwa Akinoluwa, Faith Jaiyeola and Future Stars Olamide Isiaka rocked the keenly contested game.

Bisola Mosaku opened the goal account of the game with a powerful strike from 25 yards to give Eletu Queens the lead in the sixth minute.

Ebunoluwa Akinoluwa added to Eletu Queens advantage in the 45th minute.

Faith Jaiyeola scored a fascinating goal to make it 3-0 in favor of Eletu Queens.

Olamide Isiaka scored a cracker in the 60th minute to pull a goal back for Future Stars but it wasn’t enough to salvage a draw for the Alimosho based side.

SGH Amazons will face Eletu Queens in the first semifinal match on Thursday, 16th of March 2023.
