Fadeyi Oloro: Death of The Last Hero of Arelu

Popular Nollywood legend, Mr Ojo Arowosafe, popularly known as Fadeyi Oloro is dead.

He died on Tuesday at the age of 66 after years of battling with undisclosed ailment.

His death was announced via the Instagram handle of another Nollywood star, Bayegun Oluwatoyin, also known as Woli Arole.

Fadeyi was the last Hero of the Yoruba epic television series of the 1980s, “Arelu” that had died in the last three years.

First was the movie producer himself, Alhaji Jimoh Aliu, aka Aworo who died in 2020, followed by his erstwhile wife and actor, Folakemi Aremu who played the role of “Orisabunmi”, she died in 2021.

Arelu brought the artistry skills of Arowosafe to the fore at a time the first “Fadeyi” parted with Jimoh Aliu over money issue.

Arowosafe who had been an unknown face in the theatre industry rose to prominence as Fadeyi in Arelu, Yanponyanrin and Fopomoyo.

The Ekiti born actor would soon become a household name and a regular face on television screen across Nigeria.

Expressing his grief, Oluwatoyin said on his Instagram that Arowosafe had finally died but his legacy would remain forever.

He stated, “I thank God that I came and I saw you before your death. We did the little we could do to make you happy. Let us always ensure that we visit our aging veterans when they live not until when they had died.”

Recall that Arowosafe made several calls to well meaning Nigerians to come to his aid as he battled bad health.

It was gathered that some of his colleagues visited him and provided the little they could offer but the support was not enough to cure the ailment
