Factory Workers Arraigned For Allegedly Stealing N11M Company Goods

Five workers in a factory are facing prosecution over an alleged theft of goods worth N11,300,000 from their employer.

The quintet: Godwin Onyegbule, 55, Joseph Odeyimi, 46, Abiodun Makinwa, 38 alongside Chibuzor Nguma and Ayodele Makuolu, both 38-years-old, were arraigned by the Police at the Ikeja Magistrates’ Court on over the alleged act.

According to the Police Prosecutor, ASP Raji Akeem, the gang, on a two-count charge of conspiracy and theft committed the offences on November 16, 2024, at Zaika Foods Limited, Ikeja, Lagos.

Akeem said the defendants were caught taking five cartons of soya oil, mayonnaise, and some seasonings all valuing the sum out of the company premises. He disclosed that the act contravened Sections 287 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The defendants pleaded not guilty.

The court granted the defendants bail in the sum of N500,000 each with two sureties each in like sum.

The case was adjourned till January 23.
