Movie lovers in Nigeria can start gearing up for a fun-filled weekend as three of the most anticipated movies of the year will be hitting screens from today, Friday, 13th December 2024.
While Everybody Loves Jenifa and Thin Line will be showing in cinemas nationwide, Seven Doors will be airing on Netflix worldwide.
The movies, whose premieres took place over the week, are expected to dominate cinemas and Netflix this festive period.
Everybody Loves Jenifa
Funke Akindele is set to break another box office record with Everybody Loves Jenifa after her 2023 movie, A Tribe Called Judah, became the highest-grossing cinema movie of all time in Nigeria.
The latest installment in the beloved Jenifa series, Everybody Loves Jenifa, continues to follow the humorous and relatable journey of Jenifa, played by Funke Akindele.
The movie features notable actors such as Falz, Nancy Isime, Stan Nze, and Layi, among others.
Thin Line
Also showing in cinemas from 13th December is Thin Line, a gripping drama produced by Mercy Aigbe and directed by Akay Mason.
The movie explores themes of betrayal, love, and the delicate balance between forgiveness and resentment.
With a talented cast that includes Mercy Aigbe, Uzor Arukwe, and Iyabo Ojo, Thin Line is expected to deliver emotional depth and unexpected twists.
Seven Doors
Netflix subscribers will have a reason to stay glued to their screens today with the release of the much-anticipated limited series blockbuster, Seven Doors.
The movie is another masterpiece from Femi Adebayo, the producer of the multiple award-winning Netflix original epic movie, JagunJagun.
Seven Doors is set in pre-colonial Yorubaland and delves into cultural themes, love, and betrayal. The narrative follows a Yoruba king, played by Femi Adebayo, and his Igbo queen, played by Chioma Akpotha.
Nollywood stars such as Adebayo Salami, Jide Kosoko, Muyiwa Ademola, and Kolawole Ajeyemi also star in the film.
