The Chairman of Eti-Osa Local Government, Omo’ba Adeola Alimot Adetoro, has officially launched the final phase of works on Lafiaji Drive Road, signalling a fresh push to bolster infrastructure across the municipality.

After inspecting the site on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, Adetoro flagged off the completion works on the road. The contract has been awarded to Triple Honie Global Limited, under the oversight of the Local Government’s Works and Infrastructure Department.

Officials say that the project is expected to be completed in six weeks, during which time road accessibility and quality will be improved for residents of Eti-Osa. The move is part of the current administration’s broader agenda to deliver standard infrastructure, enhance socio-economic activities, and uplift living conditions in the community.

Chairman Adetoro also appealed to the local populace to support these development efforts — especially through cooperation and timely payment of local taxes. The administration argues that community collaboration is key to ensuring that public projects are delivered on schedule and to expected standards.

Lafiaji Drive Road serves as a major route for residents and businesses in Eti-Osa, connecting multiple neighbourhoods and facilitating daily commuting. Poor road conditions have long been cited by locals as a barrier to smooth traffic, economic transactions, and access to essential services.

Local government sources say that the choice of Triple Honie Global Limited follows a bidding process overseen by the Works and Infrastructure Department. The firm has been entrusted to carry out necessary repairs, paving, drainage (where applicable), and finishing works to ensure the road meets required municipal standards.

Completion of the road is anticipated to reduce travel time, lower vehicle maintenance costs for users, and potentially stimulate commercial activity along the route. Similar infrastructure roadworks recently completed in other parts of Eti-Osa have been credited with boosting property values and attracting small business growth.
