The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has officially inaugurated its first branch in Eti Osa Local Government Area, Lagos State, under the leadership of Omo’ba Adeola Alimot Adetoro, the Executive Chairman.
The ceremony took place on Thursday, 23 October 2025, at the Eti-Osa Local Government Hall, marking a key step in the administration’s drive for inclusive governance and youth-led development.
“Omo’ba Adetoro emphasised that young people are central to innovation, peace and sustainable community development,” the press release states. She reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to equipping youth through leadership training, empowerment initiatives and opportunities for civic participation.
The newly appointed executive committee for the NYCN Eti-Osa branch will spearhead youth mobilisation and activities across the local government. The structure includes:
Comrade Yusuf Balkis – Coordinator
Comrade Sulaimon Biliamin – Deputy Coordinator
Comrade Elegushi Yunusa – General Secretary
Balogun Mustapha – Assistant Secretary

Members of the council were congratulated and urged to serve with integrity, unity and dedication in advancing the collective interests of Eti-Osa’s youths.
This ceremony is more than a formality — it represents the administration’s strategy of making youth a core part of decision-making and local development. By anchoring the NYCN directly under local governance, Eti-Osa sets a precedent for youth inclusion in Lagos State’s political and social spheres.
With the NYCN branch now operational, the expectation is that youth voices in Eti-Osa will become more visible, more organised and more impactful.
