Encomiums as associates hold Fidau for Lateef Raji
It was a big gathering of the movers and shakers of the mainstream political party, All Progressives Congress, APC that assembled to pay their last respects to the late commissioner on the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission, Lateef Raji on Monday.
The chairman of the APC in Lagos State, Otunba Henry Ajomale led party chieftains including his predecesor and former Deputy Governor, Prince Biodun Ogunleye to witness the event.
Recall that Ogunleye was the chairman of the Alliance for Democracy when Raji held the fort as the state secretary.
Governors Akinwumi Ambode of Lagos State and his Osun counterpart, Rauf Aregbesola sent Special Adviser on Civic Engagement Kehinde Joseph and Environment Commissioner Bola Ilori respectively.
Lagos State Deputy Governor Dr Oluranti Adebule was represented by former Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Olayinka Oladunjoye.
Colleagues of late Raji on the executive council of the Tunde Fashola- led government witnessed the occasion.
One of them- former Commissioner for Transportation Kayode Opeifa spoke.
Others were Lateef Ibirogba (Information) Mrs.Oguntuase (Establishment) Mr.Salvador (Special Adviser) Engr.Ganiyu Johnson (Works) and Mr.Tokunbo Abiru, (Finance).
The political leaders in the Oshodi-Isolo constituency led by octogenarian Pa Olabimtan were present.
They include former chairmen Olu Aina and Deske. Incumbent chairman Hon. Muse Ariyoh was there.
The Mandate Group, the political tendency that the deceased belong in the movement turned out in large numbers.
The TMG, Ejigbo attended in solidarity as the members wore special t-shirt in honour of the deceased.
